The ability to relax is vital to helping you manage stress, both everyday stress and the stress caused by chronic illness or pain. Practicing some simple relaxation techniques on a regular basis can have benefits such as lowering blood pressure, reducing muscle tension, lowering levels of fatigue and improving both your concentration and sleep quality.
Some of the techniques we suggest include taking a break from technology (such as your phone or social media) as well as breathing exercises to help settle your mind and help you to stay calm.
