1. What is the Genii™ flange made from?

The Genii™ stoma bag flange is made from silicone. It is a unique patented formulation that can protect the skin from harmful bodily waste, bacteria and moisture. Instead of absorbing fluids, it provides an effective seal around the stoma and allows the skin to breathe.

2. Does the stretchiness of the flange have an impact on its integrity?

The silicone used in the flange means it is extremely flexible and does have the ability to stretch and change shape but can then retract and shrink back to its original shape. We advise you to take a little extra care when removing the protective cover and ensure the double-layer cover comes off in one piece. 3.Can Genii™ help to improve my skin?

Genii™ is clinically proven to improve the condition of the skin around your stoma^*. In a recent study with 61 ostomates over a third of people reported an improvement in skin condition, the majority in the first week.

4. Who is Genii™ suitable for?

The Genii™ stoma bag is available in Mini, Midi, Maxi sizes to suit everyone from children to adults. It also comes in closed and drainable versions for both colostomates and ileostomates. The soft, flexible nature of the silicone flange means the Genii™ moulds to many different body shapes making it suitable for people with a hernia.

5. What is the Genii™ filter made from?

The Genii™ stoma bag features a high-performance carbon filter.  We chose carbon because it is known for absorbing odours and is used in many health and personal care products.

6. Is Genii™ hypoallergenic?

 7. Can I shower and bathe while using Genii™?

Yes. Our Genii™ stoma bag is water resistant and can be used in the shower or when swimming. Please remember to put one of the stickers provided over the filter. The Genii™ silicone flange is non-absorbent and adheres well to the skin allowing you to shower without fear of the water affecting adhesion.

8. Will Genii™ stick even if my skin is wet?

Most ostomy products will struggle to adhere to very wet skin. Therefore, please ensure your skin is clean and dry before applying the Genii™ stoma bag.

9. Does Genii™ come in different colours?

Yes, Genii™ has been designed to come in colours to match your skin tone – light, medium and dark – so that it ‘camouflages’ against the skin.

10. Can I use Genii™ with other accessories?

Yes. Skin barriers and ostomy seals can still be used under the Genii™ flange, but please ensure skin is completely dry before use. Genii™ Flat and Convex Ostomy Seals use the same silicone technology as our stoma bag and reduce the risk of skin damage. Genii™ Flange Extenders are also available if you want extra security from your flange.
