As we talked about in our last factsheet, having a stoma should not stop you from going on holiday or taking part in particular activities. However, travelling with an ostomy can be slightly more complicated as there’s lot of things to remember to do or pack and preparation is key.

Remembering to speak to your delivery company or GP well before your holiday (at least 4 weeks) is vital to ensure you have additional supplies for holiday and still have time to order last minute items if necessary. It’s also important to take hot weather into account if you’re going somewhere sunny as the heat can affect the adhesion of your pouch.
